ProductReview Troubleshooting

Common issues with the ProductReview inbox connection and how to fix them.

Reviews Not Appearing

If new reviews on ProductReview aren't showing up in Dinopix, check the following:

  • Recipient address is added — sign in to ProductReview.com.au, go to your listing's Notification Recipients, and confirm your unique Dinopix address (from Settings > Businesses in Dinopix) is in the list
  • Address is verified — if PR sent a verification email when you added the recipient, it needs to be confirmed before reviews flow. Email support@dinopix.ai with your business name and we'll confirm it for you
  • Correct notification types are selected — the recipient must have at least "New Reviews" enabled on PR's side
  • Right business inbox — if you manage multiple businesses, make sure you added the inbox address for the correct business (each one is unique)

Review Matched to Wrong Business

This shouldn't happen with the new per-business inbox flow — each business has a unique address built into the recipient email, so reviews go straight to the right business. If you see a mismatch, it usually means the wrong inbox address was added on PR's side. Check Settings > Businesses for the correct address.

Missing Review Content

Sometimes the email parser may not extract all review details (rating, reviewer name, or review text). This can happen if:

  • ProductReview changed their email notification template
  • The email was forwarded (re-sent) rather than delivered directly — this adds extra header text that can confuse the parser

The review will still appear in your dashboard, but some fields may show default values. The original review is always accessible via the "View on ProductReview" link.

What About Updated Reviews and Comments?

Updated reviews and comments are both captured but treated differently from new reviews:

  • Updated reviews show with a blue "Updated review" badge. They don't change your average rating — they're a notification only. The original review row (if Dinopix captured it) stays the source of truth for analytics.
  • Comments show with an amber "Comment" badge. They have no star rating and don't affect analytics, but they're visible in your inbox with a link to view the full conversation on PR.

Can I Sync Historical Reviews?

No — the inbox method only captures reviews going forward. For older reviews, enter your current rating breakdown in Settings > Businesses > ProductReview historical ratings. Dinopix will include the baseline in your overall average so your displayed score reflects all reviews, not just the ones we captured.

Can Dinopix Post Replies Directly?

No — ProductReview.com.au doesn't offer an API for posting replies. That's why we use the draft, copy, and paste workflow. You draft your response in Dinopix (with AI assistance), copy it, and paste it on ProductReview.com.au manually.
