Importing Contacts & Orders from CSV

Bring existing customers, orders or enquiries in from a spreadsheet.

Before You Start

Go to Customers > CRM Settings > Connected sources and choose Import from CSV.

Choose a Destination

The importer asks what you're importing before you upload, because the expected columns differ:

  • Contacts — name, email, phone, company
  • Orders — order number, date, total, status, plus the customer's email to attach it to
  • Enquiries — creates cases rather than orders

An example file is provided for whichever destination you pick.

Naming the Source

Give the import a name — e.g. "Mailing list 2026". It shows as the contact's source afterwards, so you can always tell where a record came from and filter on it later.

Locations

If you run multiple locations, pick which one imported orders belong to during the upload step.

Duplicates

Imports match on email. An existing contact is updated rather than duplicated. Rows without an email address can't be deduplicated, so check those carefully before importing.

Wait, before you go!
